Tofino - Vancouver Island

Hi team, last week I was lucky enough to find somewhere to stay on Meares Island near Tofino. The beach was awesome and you could hike 720m up Lone Cone Mountain. It’s now one of my favourite places. Tell us about your favourite place and why you love it so much...

Dorset in England

Last week I went to Dorset with my mum and my sister. We did lots of walking and made lots of animal friends. Some of these pictures are from Golden Cap which is the highest point on the south coast of England. It’s 191m above sea level. Can you work out if that’s taller or shorter than some Auckland landmarks like the Sky Tower or Rangitoto (and by how much)?

A big Fano of Italy (Fano is the town I stayed in)

Last week I got to spend a whole week with 17 members of my family in Italy. We stayed in a huge villa, ate lots of pasta, saw some great beaches and visited lots of old buildings.

An old abandoned house in Fano.

Selfie.

The city of Ancona.

The view from our villa.

In Italy I learnt quite a few Italian words like thank you, good morning, sorry, I don’t understand, goodbye, how are you? And some numbers. Can you use Google Translate to find out what the Italian translations for these words are? Or what other useful words can you find out?

Nice to see you France!

Hi everyone! First stop on my trip (after four planes, four trains, one bus and two cars) was France for my friend Tom’s wedding. We stayed in a place called Le Broc and went swimming in the river. Not for long though; it was very cold because the water was coming down from the mountains. The wedding was at a beautiful hotel by the sea near Nice (that’s the name of a city in France not just the adjective when something is good).

My challenge for you is to use Google Maps to work out how long my journey took and if there is a quicker way. Clue: I went from Auckland to Sydney to Hong Kong to London to Nice. Post your journey on your blog and leave me a comment with the link.
